Set up an account and add your Aircraft/ELT information, press "Perform Test". Do the test on the ELT itself and you should receive an e-mail of satisfactory results. A PDF can be printed from the web site.

Lesson learned.......

The satellite test DOES NOT work with KANNAD ELT's. I paid $30 and ran a test on a Cessna Sovereign. The 406Test folks did not get it, but...... we "did" receive a call from whatever entity monitors aircraft/ship ELT's. They got it!!! And.... we got a slap on the wrist.

Another issue with this type of ELT is that is doesn't actually send a data burst until 50 seconds after activation. In the meantime, the 121.50 signal is blasting out for all to hear.

I think best practices with KANNAD ELT's is to use a handheld tester directly connected to the unit and a dummy load on the VHF output.
