Ram Air Turbine "Pressure" indication on overhead with center hydraulic pumps on.

(Light on via lamp test.)

Module replaced in right wheel well. No help.

Check valve in left wheel well replaced also. Still had light with center hydraulic pumps on.

All previous manual runs of turbine were short in duration. Finally ran the unit for 2+ minutes. Fault corrected itself. Possible vapor lock in turbine unit or feed lines????

Lesson learned. If problem ever reoccurs, dropping the turbine along with a long run time will be tried "first". Both the control module and check valve replacements were not fun (and not needed).

We just R&R the engine start/RAT control panel for a bad start switch on a 767, and it doesn't require a test of the RAT, just light test. Is that strange or what?

Once you've done it once and realize how simple it is...... a quick test after a panel replacement should be required.

It literally..... takes less than 5 minutes to do.
